KVB (Winoa Czech Republic, s.r.o.) has recently won the competitive game against Vulkan, gained 30 tons of their potential and optimized customers’ process. A strong relationship with Schmidt and Clemens group was established and a new door opened for STELUX. How did it happen?
Schmidt + Clemens is an internationally active company. In addition to its German headquarters in Lindlar-Kaiserau, S+C manufactures in Spain, UK, Czech Republic, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia. Schmidt + Clemens Group is a current global market leader with products for the petrochemical industry; its main business orientation are High Alloy Steel and High Alloy products. Turnover in 2013 was 310 Mio EUR.
The Schmidt + Clemens ALFANAMETAL in Czech Republic produces spun cast and static cast parts, i.e. tubes, return bends, elbows, Y-pieces, T-pieces and tetra-fittings all from just one source. Stainless steel consumption for blasting amounts to 30 tons per year. Historically, Czech producer as a whole group used material of the competitive brand Vulkan, size S150 (our correspondent CN150).
Recently, S + C ALFANAMETAL were looking for suppliers able to offer technical support. First meeting occurred last year in September and was qualified as Customer’s Project oriented to customer blasting machine and people training. For the project, KVB offered their background in terms of Laboratory, Test Center, a Walue technician, worldwide support, databases and knowledge. It was explained to the customer that WINOA Group is oriented to innovation, customer satisfaction and cost savings.
A month later came an order for New Operating Mix followed by regular TA visits (machine checks, TER Reports). In December Customer visited AOD production and laboratory in KVB Mníšek, training was realised for middle management, then additional training for employees in S+C Alfanametal in February 2014. The last machine check and WA Cost took place in October 2014.
Focus on costs of blasting started in November 2014 during a customer’s presentation attended by S+C top management, Ennio Torrigliani, Miroslav Malý and Jan Hyza. Customer was explained the WA Cost tool and all the benefits Winoa provided
Customer appreciated the enormous benefit for S+C Alfanametal Czech Republic – 47% of savings! – obtained mainly thanks to:
- Blasting time reduction
- Blasting machine restored to good condition
- Waste and consumption reduction
- Improvement of knowledge about blasting application for middle management
- A change in the way of thinking of operators
